I made it into a Gotham Chess video...
My work here is done. To my surprise I saw my exchange with Kramnik appear in a GothamChess video. That was fun! Never in a million years did I expect the exchange a) to become as interactive with Vlad as it did and b) gather so much attention.
FWIW: I studied economics, so that's where the math / statistics comes from but I do not claim to be an expert. I figured I would simply do some basic calculations with the help of GPT4 to see if the claim by Kramnik made any sense. Even though the 84.9% win rate is points, not games (as it needs to allow for draws as well), the point still stands: it is not statistically unlikely.
I agree with Levy that the most impactful factors are also the hardest to qualify, as they are intangible. Think time management, flow state (form), luck (!), pressure and even mouse skills. Many more to think of. Especially Hikaru playing 3+0 almost religiously online, must have an impact beyond what is already represented in his ELO rating for the format, but I would not know how to incorporate that exactly.
So yes, GPT4 played a role, in the same way that Stockfish plays a role in many chess analysis videos nowadays. It is not the end all, be all but it makes it a lot easier to generate responses.
It was done using GPT4 and code interpreter. That is very different from the free version.
Thanks Levy for including an old fart like myself and I am now going to watch your video on Kramnik apparently suing chess.com. I hope I won't get a mention in that one. ![]()
Cheers all. Much ado about nothing, if you ask me but hey ho. It's content, eh?
