Game of the Week: Offense is the Best Defense
This week, I want to share a game that I just finished a few days ago. The game is not very long (compared to other games I have posted), but it is a really fun one, full of tactics and sharp play.
Early in the game, I decided I didn't want this to be just an average game, so I chose an opening line that I new would result in a lot of tactical play. A little ways in, when I was attacked (a weak attack, I might add), instead of defending, I launched a massive counterattack! The end result of this attack was that I achieved a mate in 6 position (which my opponent made me play out to the end ).
I'm going to do things a little differently this week: I'm posting my game as a puzzle! Find the mate in 6, and you will reveal my full analysis of the game. Enjoy, and good luck!
Please feel free to comment below! Did you solve the puzzle? Perhaps there were unsound moves in the game that I made and didn't realize? Lines I didn't calculate for? I'd love to hear from you!
