Game of the Week: Offense is the Best Defense
This week, I want to share a game that I just finished a few days ago. The game is not very long (compared to other games I have posted), but it is a really fun one, full of tactics and sharp play.
Early in the game, I decided I didn't want this to be just an average game, so I chose an opening line that I new would result in a lot of tactical play. A little ways in, when I was attacked (a weak attack, I might add), instead of defending, I launched a massive counterattack! The end result of this attack was that I achieved a mate in 6 position (which my opponent made me play out to the end
).
I'm going to do things a little differently this week: I'm posting my game as a puzzle! Find the mate in 6, and you will reveal my full analysis of the game. Enjoy, and good luck! ![]()
Please feel free to comment below! Did you solve the puzzle? Perhaps there were unsound moves in the game that I made and didn't realize? Lines I didn't calculate for? I'd love to hear from you!
