January...What's in a name??

Where did the name of our first month come from?

Well...let me tell you.

January comes from Janus, a Roman god who represented all beginnings.  And with due apology to the late Jim Morrison, Janus was considered to be the god of the ‘doors’.

Statues of Janus always have 2 faces, representative of Janus’s ability to see all things past and future.

Maybe being called two faced is not such a bad thing, huh?!
