Dear Chess Lovers,

The Women in Chess Foundation is excited to invite you to participate in our Chessmas Streamer Club Arena!

This event is open to any affiliated/partnered Twitch, Kick and YouTube streamer. Streamers will need to recruit their community to play for their club in order to compete for prizes!

During the tournament, players will compete in games as they would in a regular arena, but their scores will count toward their club. The club with the highest score wins. You can read more about club arenas here: https://www.chess.com/news/view/chesscom-releases-club-arenas#mechanics

The event will be held on Sunday, December 7th starting at 9:00pm CET/ 3:00pm EST/ 12:00pm PST! We will be posting updates on my Instagram and X and hosting the event on Twitch with commentary!

Format

The time control is 3+0 rated blitz, and the arena will last for 90 minutes, in which time you and your community will try to win as many games as possible. You as a streamer can either choose to play in the event alongside your community, or commentate your community’s games. Either way, you must stream the entire 90 minutes of the event with your board and camera.

Important: 

One prize per person. If you qualify for multiple prizes, the prize with the highest value will be awarded to you. You cannot qualify for both a streamer prize and an individual prize.

We have prizes intended for both streamers and your community members, so be sure to encourage your followers to participate! The more people playing in your club, the more likely you are to win a streamer prize.

Streamers are not required to play the event, but they are required to stream the entire event alongside our guidelines and provide commentary on event games if they are not participating themselves. 

Schedule

The event will take place on Sunday, December 7th starting at 21:00 - 22:30 CET/3:00 - 4:30 pm EST/12:00 - 1:30pm PST

Requirements

  • All participants must stream the arena have facecam throughout the arena. You do not need a second camera, but your overlay must include the arena and ongoing games, whether you are playing it yourself or not.
  • Stream title relevant to the event including a command to donate to the fundraiser. Example: 'Women in Chess Foundation Chessmas Fundraiser !WICF’
  • Leave the VOD up and accessible for anyone for 1 week after the event
  • One prize per person will be awarded

Streamers who do not abide by regulations will not be eligible for prizes, nor will their club members. Violating Chess.com Terms of Service immediately disqualifies you from the event and all prizes.

Registration

You must register by Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00pm CET in order to participate in the arena. 

We will ‘challenge’ all participating clubs when the arena is set up later that week. Due to the format of club arenas, we will not be able to admit clubs after this deadline.

The Club Arena point system works the same as regular arenas, with points for wins and draws, and bonus points for streaks. Therefore, the more of your community you can get to take part, the more points they can score for you!
