Outside passed pawns: a strong argument in chess!

In one of my free OTB - games came up following position:

 


I had had for a long time the initiative and now I saw the chance to transpose into a better bishop endgame with an outside passed pawn

1. ... Bxg2 ! The bishop cannot be taken, because of f3!

 

 

Here a position from an online game I played some month ago here at chess.com



Presumably this position is lost anyway cause of the extra pawn in b-file and the active king. But creating an outside passed pawn brought a quick decision:
