Dear friends, i admit it, i like the Caro Kann. Thats the dude over there with the crazy moustache, Horatio Caro, one of its earliest proponents. After playing the Sicilian in its various manifestations with practically no success, I realise that it does not suit my temperament ( I dont really like confrontation) and I will therefore do anything for an easy life, including sacrificing a pawn for positional compensation.
With this in mind I am advocating the following system against the advance variation, black immediately strikes back in the centre and is prepared to sacrifice the pawn (which white can keep if he really wants to) for positional compensation. I also include a little video. Thank you so much for taking the time and I wish you well with your own chess -
