Games From My Early Posts
Morning Everyone.
A couple of days ago I spotted an article on the internet which used - uncredited of course - one of my photo discoveries. Digging back to find the original I realised that I have been doing this stuff since back in 2017!
Back then 'Top Bloggers' didn't get their work featured on the front page of the site. My friend @kamalakanta and I used to put stuff together purely for the fun of it, and nobody took any notice of how many 'reads' they got, etc.
No Orwelian thought police and woke warriors looking to be offended and mute you or ban you from anything. No self promotion or advertising. Just people who love chess having a natter about the game and sharing stuff. Happy days!
I also had more time back then, and produced some rather large articles!!
Well, with an hour to spare, I decided to grab a few games from those early posts, for those of you who won't have seen them, and give them here just so you can enjoy them, without any pretentions of doing anything of value.
The wonderful @introuble2 has just posted another beautiful little gem, which has a cartoon of Vidmar - quite a few cartoons and charicatures of him about!
I have posted a lot of Vidmar - one of my favourite players and writers. Let's get to the chess.
One fun post I did was a little chess ballet, featuring some games by Gideon Barcza.

One of my little 'fun games'.
One huge work was an article on Ludwig Engels - hopefully no longer forgotten.
Nearly forgot this one!! From a large article on Klaus Junge. With throw it in here -
An unusual game from Grigory( or Georgy) Lisitsin.

Time for 2 more. When I was growing up as a player, one of my chess heroes was the incredible Dr A.J. Mestel.
My favourite game of his has just about everything I love in a chess game except for an endgame - a sporting battle with brilliant ideas.
And finally, I once answered the question' Why Simaginfan'
I also explained a little of how I used to play correspondence chess - back when humans played it. So, to finish, a c.c. game from Simagin which is a true masterpiece of ideas, imagination, analysis and technique against a formidable opponent.
I hope you enjoyed this little bit of self indulgence and are perhaps inspired to look at some of my earlier stuff. Take care everyone.
