Last part. Lots more Moustaches!! ( frequenters of my comments section will understand!!  Feel free to join in the comments - it's where the fun stuff is - only rule is to be polite. )

One or two unique images here - hopefully they will come in useful.))

1915. Baron Dory.
1915. 99 Ed. Lasker

You can use that one with the next one - which is an absolute beauty by the way. ( We all know the game that I am referring to. Top  games posted on the internet, in my opinion :- The 'Opera Box Game', Kasparov - Topalov, Short - Timman, Botvinnik - Tal. m.g.6. and Lasker - Thomas. Other suggestions for 'done to death and cooked in the internet barbeque until the smoke pours off them' games welcomed!!. Have fun with that one. You could even start a thread with the title 'SEEN IT!! and advertise it here. )

Anyway. I have loads of pictures of the great Sir George Thomas - my favourite is in one of my articles on Malcolm Barker. This one is a gem though. 1915. Page 104.

1915. 195
1915. 198 Traxler - of Two Knight's Defence fame.
1923. 99. The header picture from last time.
1923. 162
1923. 165

No, he wasn't World Champion when it was published!

1923. 194. Marco, from his obituary.
1923. 319
1924. 21. A good version of a well known one of Curt von Bardeleben
1924. 49 Yes, the one behind The Grunfeld Defence.
1924. 115
1924. 117
1924. 294

Another unusual one of Lasker.

1925. 11
1925. 175. Schlechter and Teichmann. No details given - I have it in book form somewhere, and will update this if I find it.
1925. 208.
1925. 255
1925. 257
1926. 33. Alexandr Flamberg - one of the Russian internees

Some nice cartoons from coverage of the Semmering 1926 tournament.

1926. 82

Chess organiser and benefactor, Victor Tietz was a decent player, and one of Lasker's first competitive opponents.

1926. 100
1926. 102. Rosselli Del Turco
1926. 106.

Another drawing of Janowsky - he seems to have been an artists favourite.

1926. 115

Vidmar - again someone who you can find lots of drawings/cartoons/characatures of. You won't find many of the next guy though - useful to anyone interested in Vera Menchik, I think.

1926. ?? J. Davidson.
1926. 254 Includes Imre Konig who ended up in England.
1926. 280

Make what you want of that one!!

1929. 211
1929. 243. Good version of the Carlsbad Tournament .
1929. 305

A usable one - Early Flohr, late - career wise - Rubinstein and Maroczy, plus a rare one of Canal - who is also in the previous picture.

Quality wise, it is just about good enough to make useful individual pictures from.

1930. 34

Sadly poor quality, but as the picture is difficult to find it may be of use.

1932. 305. An early image of Eliskases - a man who beat Capablanca and represented three different countries.
1936. 260. Usable version.
1937. 139. A young Paul Keres.
1938. 101 Alexander Halprin.
1948. 150

Some 'odds and ends', as I come to them.

1932. 215. Bad Sliac.

That one includes Pokorny, who lost an important game to Lasker 9 years earlier, amongst other things of interest.

Baldaur Honlinger. Chess editor, and competitor in some of the Nazi sponsored war-time tournaments. 1949. 33

1935. 17 Josef Krejcik - of Krejcik gambit fame.
Trebitsch Memorial. 1935. 346

Rare pictures of Gereben - a story in himself - and Lajos Steiner.

Vienna. Sept. 1935. 279

And to finish with, my two favourites from this final selection.

1915. 52 'Istvan' Abonyi. The man behind the story of a famous Rubinstein - Vidmar game.

And Lasker giving a simultaneous exhibition in Vienna, which I have used for the header.

1934. 166. Taken April 28. 1934.

Whilst I am here and have talked about Sir George Thomas,( as well as Ritson elsewhere recently) I will throw in my 2nd favourite chess photo . It is the property of Malcolm Barker, so a definite DO NOT REPRODUCE THIS WITHOUT CONSENT. Thanks.

And one that my friend Kamalakanta has just sent me that features some players pictured on this page. Douglas Griffin has some amazing pictures posted on twitter - go check them out.

O.K. Today's handy hint - the pictures are usually on the pages given for a reason, so if you are looking into a particular player there may be some useful information to be found.

And, for that reason, when you post pictures PLEASE quote the source!! That helps anyone who follows you in investigating a subject. Thanks.
Big thanks to those who have taken the time to look at these pictures over the last week. Back soon with some nice chess which has been kindly sent to me by a good friend. Take care til then.
