Here's an example of The King and Queen Mate:
We're not finished yet but as you can see, the white queen is always moving to a square that is a knight's jump away from the king!
WARNING: When the king gets to the corner, it may be tempting to move your queen to g6 like this:
But that is stalemate!
You should keep your queen where it is but just march your king closer like this:
The black king moves around while the white king creeps closer... and checkmate!
Yay!
