An absolutely unreal miniature game in the Smith-Morra

One of my Youtube subscribers pointed out an absolutely savage rapid that was played here on chess.com. I don't know the players but they are both reasonably high rated and/or coaching.

The opening played in this one was the Smith-Morra gambit. If you are interested in this opening I couldn't recommend enough the fantastic "Mayhem in the Morra" by IM Marc Esserman.

The ending of the game and the mate obiviously reminds us of this historic finish:

The way the bishops crossed each other was also pretty nice, reminiscent of the Boden's mate and the bishops crossing paths like in this one that we saw glimpses of in the Queen's Gambit
