This is to celebrate the recent 55th birthday of Peter Dinklage, who gained international recognition through playing Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones from 2011-19, for which he won four Emmys (which is a record for an actor) and a Golden Globe for Supporting Actor. However through his career he has amassed 88 screen credits, with his breakout role seen as The Station Agent 2003, and he was in Elf the same year, Nip/Tuck 2006, The Chronicles of Narnia – Prince Caspian 2008, Ice Age – Continental Drift 2012, X-Men Days of Future Past 2014, Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri 2017, Avengers – Infinity War 2018, Transformers – Rise of the Beasts 2023 and The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 2023 amongst many others. Born in Morristown, Jersey Shore, New Jersey, he grew up in the Brookside section of Mendham Township (nr Morristown), Morris County, New Jersey and attended Delbarton School in Morristown, completing in 1991 a degree in drama at Bennington College, Vermont. He has achondroplasia, which is a form of dwarfism, but it has no effect on his skill as an actor or obvious screen presence, and he became an acclaimed theatre actor before making it to the screen. He lived in Brooklyn, New York City in his early career and he still lives in New York, having lived in Williamsburg in Brooklyn and West Village in Manhattan.
