This match we play in honour of Edward Jenner who was the first to invent real vaccine 220 years ago, May 14th 1796. He tested an old idea and took pus from cowpox blisters and vaccinated his gardeners son. Later he became immune against smallpox. In 1816 Sweden was the first nation to impose a general vaccine against smallpox.
