After seven chess tournaments over the course of two months, it came down to the final game! When the dust settled, Owen Scollon was crowned Autumn Grand Prix Champion, edging out Max Trushkov by a half point! And only a half point back from Max, tied for 3rd-4th, were Jonas Carpenter and Caitlin Jackson. And a half point back from them, tied for 5th, were Ethan Bosch and Kylan Peterson! Sehome, Ferndale, Lynden, and other Whatcom County high school chessplayers are invited to play in the weekly Whatcom High Schools Chess Scrimmage, starting this week, Wednesday, 7pm at  Scrimmages will take place weekly until State.  To play, join the club "The Kraken" in advance, then enter the tournament before 7pm.  This week's format: Four rounds at Game/10 plus 5 second increment.
