Welcome to the SCARIEST trilogy of tournaments ever!!! It is October, time to celebrate Halloween and Dia de la Muerta!! So I've designed a trilogy of terrifying tournaments for anyone who is brave enuf to try them. Since October is the 10th month of the year, each tournament will have 10 players. When you've got scary things coming after you, you need to move very fast, so all of these tournaments will be set at only 1-day per turn (you'd better be able to keep up). And just to make things even scarier, BOTH games per opponent will start immediately!! That means you will be playing 18 simultaneous games (and any mathematician can tell you that 18 is what you get when you add 6+6+6 ). These tournaments will be going very fast, so vacation time is NOT allowed. However, just to make sure that no one gets hurt for real (it is all in fun after all) these games will also NOT be rated. Here are the Custom Trophies for the Halloween Gambit Tournament: 1st Place: 2nd Place: 3rd Place: Here are the Custom Trophies for the Dracula vs Frankenstein Tournament: 1st Place: 2nd Place: 3rd Place: And here are the Custom Trophies for the Creepy Crawly Tournament: 1st Place: 2nd Place: 3rd Place: Good Luck to everyone brave enuf to try these horrifying tournaments!! Have Fun!!

Hello Everybody, Since you guys are doing so well on the Vote Chess Leaderboard, I wanted to invite you to participate in the next season of the Fortnight Speed Vote League. We play Vote Chess at 10-mins per turn, which is incredibly intense, exciting, and addictive. It can also be very time consuming as an average game can last 7-10 hours (the longest game in Season 1 was over 21 hours), and SOMEONE needs to be online to make a move every 20 minutes (no one needs to be online for the whole game of course, as long as SOMEONE is there to stop the game from timing out). If this speed is too fast for you, I can completely understand, I just wanted to give you the opportunity of joining if you wanted to. All you need to do is complete 1 Vote Game at 10-mins per turn (against any group) to prove that you can go the distance without timing out, and put your name in this thread (before October 1st): http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/season-2---teams Anyone who wishes to follow along with the League is welcome to join the headquarters and/or browse the forums (even if this team doesn't join): http://www.chess.com/groups/view/the-fortnight-speed-vote-league-headquarters We've had an incredible first season (we're in the Semi-Finals right now), and we're looking forward to an even better Season 2. Hope you can join us.

I see that safetybaer's account was closed. I'm not going to assume that he did anything wrong, unless he chooses to admit as much. But since his account is closed, shouldn't we go ahead and delete it from the group? No use letting a closed account sit around. I also noticed that two of our older member's account are long closed: jancok, and pb26305771. I'll go ahead and clean up the accounts in a few days unless someone speaks up with a reason not to. Finally, I noticed that Chuzzlechamp, our founder, stated that he has left chess.com. Chuzzle, if you read this, let us know if you still want to be active in the group. Thanks!
Hi all, Are we ready for a team match challenge? Does anyone have suggestions as to whom to challenge? Can you let us know if you are available? Admin will contact members after a few days !!!
Does anyone object if I change our country from "Great Britain" to "International"? I know a lot of our members, including myself, are located all over the world outside GB. Also, since we don't have a logo, I thought I'd make some suggestions for one. I was thinking it should have something to do with the moon, since the word "lunatic" is derived from the word "luna," meaning moon. Here are some ideas: The first two are just pics of the moon. Because of the small size of the logo, I thought this would be easy to recognize. This one actually brings chess into the mix, but the moon is quite small now. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Let me know!
