Hi guys, Even though the ChessMeetNYC club is no longer active, the ChessMeet online community here on Chess.com will continue . Of course I miss OTB events, but organizing physically is beyond my bandwidth right now as I build a new career. Feel free to post, make suggestions, etc. I might still schedule some online arena events just for practice and fun ( keep in mind Chess.com cancels the events if there are < 4 players) so don't commit to big schedule changes just to attend the events. Hi everyone! Thanks for joining. I thought it would be great to have a space to tell a little bit about ourselves and welcome new members My name is Caressa. I grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to NYC when I was 15. I learned chess when I was a kid but stopped for many many years until Queens Gambit came out on Netflix. I realized how much I missed the chessboard and the thrill of the game. So I have been playing more in the past year.
