Hey folks, I cleared this with KeSeto. The Prize Fighter Chess Club is hosting an online event tomorrow. Previous competitors have Included GM Benjamin Bok, GM Jospem, GM Minh Le, among other grandmasters. 8 of 25 of the last members are titled. this is not a news, this is just a place to post good games that you/your opponent played. requirements to post: 1:Must be a move that turned a losing position to a equal/winning position or a equal position to a winning position(if it is a blunder, it wouldn't be fun nor learning) 2: NO POSITIONS YOU GET FROM CHEATING OR STAGING! 3:Making up one is fine, but you need to base it on one of the moves you played before/a good move you saw in the analysis. 4:If this is played somewhere else(e.g. at home), please note it. 5:Make sure either you or your opponent did it, don't copy one from the internet and note it as you played it somewhere else. 6: I don't want a move that you think is good, i want the analysis to think that it is good! 7: marking advantages is fine(in fact, i would appreciate it if you marked all the moves that is a mistake or a good move!), and so is listing variants that is better, just keep in mind that all the variants from should not last up to 5 moves, just in case it got hard to read.

I tried analyzing our last vote chess game for the first time in a long time, hopefully we can learn a little bit from this. If you find an error, please don't hesitate to call it out.

I just broke 2300 in puzzles. I’ve done this in only six months of chess which I think is above average, so I thought I’d share my approach. First step was learning basic tactics like forks, skewers, mates etc. This got me to 1200 easy. 1200+: Getting beyond 1200 was mainly help from an article on chessfox.com on a systematic approach for puzzles. I got a lot slower, but I think this developed good habits early. I got the sense that as long as you followed the steps you could solve immensely challenging puzzles in bite size pieces. In one video, Gotham Chess suggested focusing on an accuracy goal of greater than 60%. Having this be my measure of success helped me improve as well. 1800+: the puzzles were getting tough here, my calculation were tacking a long time. To break through, I started playing much higher rated puzzles on unrated mode. Solving puzzles in the 2300-3000 range made me feel like the ratings start to get arbitrary at a certain point. This gave me the confidence to go back and push for 2300. Now I feel the skies the limit. Next stop 3000 My tips for someone with less than six months experience. Solve puzzles the same way every time. Focus on accuracy as a success a metric. Take your time, I spend about two minutes on average. Have fun!

Most problems you are having are probably caused by malware, spyware, or a virus! Rule # 1 - NEVER d/l and install a "free game". They only offer it to you so that they can insert malicious code in the program such as viruses and spyware! To recover from this stuff you need to take the following steps: 1) d/l the FREE anti-spyware program from www.superantispyware.com and run it. Allow it to remove any and all spyware it finds. If you have a weather program that is showing you the temperatures it will probably not run after you run this program because it is SPYWARE! But, if you want to speed up your connection and your computer, I strongly suggest that you remove ALL spyware! 2) Reboot and run a good registry clean program. If you do not have one you can use the free one from Microsoft. DO NOT USE A FREE REGISTRY PROGRAM FROM ANY OTHER VENDOR! It is a scam! They will infect your computer and you will eventually lose everything on your hard drive! 3) NEVER run a registry cleaner program twice in a row! You must reboot after you run such a program. If you run it twice w/o rebooting it will corrupt your registry! You should use this program only once a month. 4) Always update the latest Windows programs unless you are running WinXP. There are no upgrades for WinXP - so if you receive a message to update I suggest you ignore it (assuming that you last upgraded in the past 3 months). 5) Always d/l the latest upgrades for your security programs. This could include your: - Antivirus program - AntiSpyware program - Anti Malware program And MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!! ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR HARD DRIVE! At least once a week. Cheers, Don
