Hello everyone, Sean (@Chambro1970) here the Tournament Director of the County Championship. I'm just posting this form to discuss the future of Essex in term of being able to continue playing in the County Championship. @Matt1979 has done a sterling job of keeping this club alive and competing as a representative of the CCCUKI (County Championship Council UK & Ireland). Matt has decided to take a break from Chess.com and he asked me to step in to help. Unfortunately I am hamstrung as I need to be promoted to coordinator by a Super Admin, I have tried messaging the only SA @MrEnigma, but I have had no response despite several messages. That leaves Essex in a bit of a pickle, as it stands Essex are in a state of limbo and cannot set up matches or enter competitions (Essex have already missed out on entering the CC25 Cup). So without any active admins we have a number of choices: Leave things as they are and hope one of the existing admins steps up. Create a new Essex club and start afresh. I have set up a new team, and will be inviting members of this club over to the new team. The aim being to get a competition ready team up and running before the new seaso starts in November. The New Team link is here, come on over and join: https://www.chess.com/club/team-essex
Hi group, firstly my apoligies for not being here much, real life and work have been hectic. I have appointed 2 new positions to the group. Matt1979 has been promoted to admin RoleyPoley has been promoted to Co-Ordinator. I still have positons available, so if you would like to be considered then just DM me. Best Regards to ALL
Hi all. Just in case I am not able to start a match, the fixtures and rules for the 2018 league are as follows. Round 1- January Essex v Northern Knights Round 2 - February Cambridgeshire v Essex Round 3 - March Essex v Suffolk Round 4 - April Essex v Kent Checkmates Round 5 - May London Knights v Essex Round 6 - June Essex v Marches Round 7 -July Munster v Essex The minimum number of players for division 2 and 3 matches will be 4. Challenges should be sent at least 2 weeks before the match is due to start and the matches should be locked by the final Saturday of the month. Either team can send the challenge. All matches should have a start time (eg the final Saturday of the month) included, so the match will start automatically on that date. If a team does not have enough players on the day the match is due to start then they will be given one extra week to find the extra players. After this week is up the opposing team can choose to claim the match by default. Matches should be set to 2 concurrent games The time limit is 3 days per move

We need to have a recruitment drive, and need active members, so please peeps, lets try to recruit some players
I am looking at current members in this group, and are quite a few that have been inactive, so anybody that has been inactive for 3 years or move will be removed. Any objections?
Anybody want to be admin? It will be mainly for starting matches in the upcoming county chess league.
Hi group. RobParker who founded this group, and was indeed the Super Admin has left chess.com, which leaves the Super Admin position open. I am willing to take up the position, but can only do so with the support of the members here. So if you are happy with me to become Super Admin, then please post here with approval, so chess.com can see that I have support. Thanks

Hi everyone. I'm Martin, just joined the group and thought I'd drop you a note to introduce myself. I'm pretty new to the game, so just having fun around the site learning stuff. I'm living in Colchester at the moment and I'm up for any games, not sure exactly how they work but I'm happy to take part in any of the competitions. Just looking forward to having a bit of fun.

I think some of our players' were a bit ambitious to think we could win this match when you look at our ratings. You don't need to enter a match to play a higher ranked player to get experience. If we all want to win our matches I think we should all play in our own ratings. glafnazur139 (2033) V Hyannis (1566) Nf6 (1955) V Cobnuts (1518)
