Game against 2100 I played terrible

From various sources. This one is Game 1 from On My Great Predecessors by Garry Kasparov, played in 1834 between A.McDonnell and L.La Bourdonnais. Kasparov gives extensive notations, but I'm not going to share them unless you want to ask about something specific.
Here's my advice: 1. Never castle 3. A pawn is worth more than 3 queens, so if you can be the first to trade your queen for a pawn, you're practically guaranteed to win. 4. The king needs plenty of room to execute his most powerful attacks, so make sure he's not blocked in by pawns or other pieces. 5. Friendly fire is a real danger in chess, so be careful not to capture your own pieces.  6. The a and h pawns are the strongest attacking pieces in your whole army, so make sure you deploy them as far down the board as you can, as soon as you can, and then commit all your pieces to supporting their attack. Yeah I have more secrets, but that's all I can tell you for now

Pins Now, this might've come up in the previous lessons, but it wasn't fully explained. Pins could be useful, and it sometimes changes the whole game!! This lesson will be about 1. how to take advantages with pins 2. how to avoid being destroyed by pins... Now, to start the lesson off, here's a meme... Ex 1:   There are a few alternatives to this position, and it's in my bio if you're interested in checking it out. Though this may seem obvious for few, I still believe it's a great thing to share!! Ex 2: This is a pin that happens in a lot of openings. The queen side's knight could also be pinned, as shown Ex 3: Ex 4:   Ex 5:   Sometimes, there are even more effective pins... like this- Ex 6: Now, whenever your pieces are pinned, you will most likely want to unpin them... unless you have a trap against it, as in the meme above. Ex 7:   Now Let's see if you've been paying attention!! Puzzle of Understanding Pz 1:   Pz 2:

Whoops~ You fall into a trap, and you blunder your pieces...?  Ex 1: (From Vitualis's amazing quick wins)

Forks Sometimes, there's just simple forks, like this: Ex 1:   There are a couple of ways to stop this... Ex: 2 But sometimes... you accidentally forget your opponent's bishop... Ex 3: Sometimes, knights' movement could be tricky for lower rated players, but don't worry!! You'll get more used to it the more you play! Calculate where the knights can move, and plan to stop your opponent's plan. Ex 4: Sometimes there will be possible sacrifices for forks... Ex 5: Knight forks happen often, but it's not the only possible way to fork. You can technically do it with any pieces!! Ex 6:   Puzzle of Understanding Pz 1: Pz 2:

So sometimes it feels frustrating... Winning a game, losing the next one, and your rating is the same or lower... but here's a strategy/trick you could try... So once, when I was about 1200 rated, I stopped playing rated and played unrated instead. I played a lot!! And it became easier and easier to beat my opponent. Sometimes you improve without knowing what you improve on. So then, after a few months after that... I started playing and rated again!! And I was literally unbeatable!! Winning multiple games in a row, losing only a few... I got all the way to 1500 in less than a month (+300)!! Just something you could try... End~

Bad Trades So often, when I play with lower rating people (no offense), they tend to sometimes give away material. Whenever you want to bring up a trade, always see if it's a good move Ex 1: Offering trades that lose pieces are mostly always bad, but sometimes, there could be some kind of trap... but let's get into it in another lesson Ex 2: Don't forget about the pieces you're protecting... try keeping in mind which piece is being attacked, and try to add more defenses before offering a trade like the example above. How to prepare for trades (if you want to) Ex 3: In this example, just like Ex 2, black wants to trade off the knights. But before that happens, you should prepare first. After adding defense to the pawn once again, black is able to get an outpost with their knight, also offering a trade. Ex 4: Puzzle of Understanding Pz 1: (Take e5, Defend e4) Note: may not be best moves, but just for the puzzle purpose End of lesson 1~
