Hey if any of you guys aren't aware of it there is a great mma site call MMAplayground...its basically like fantasy MMA where you make fight picks and "wagers" over the course of a season (10 events) and they give out site awards to the winners...also you can create your own top ten fighter list...the forums there are very active and fun as well...anyone just a recommendation...I've been trying to find guys over there to join this site so I figured I could do the same on this site...its a great site and I recommend you check it out www.mmaplayground.com

Hey everyone I saw this in another group I was in and was wondering if any of you would be interested in a doing a group tournament...sort of crown our champion...maybe do and open division and a <1200 division depending on the level of interest?

Hey I'm new to chess.com and a huge MMA fan...would love to get some discussion going on here in the forums...since Anderson was the last topic discussed might as well continue in that vein...what does everyone think of Vitor Belfort having to drop out of the upcoming fight in Dubai, and now Demian Maia stepping in...it sucks cuz I was really hoping to see this fight...and I think Anderson is going to destroy Maia(especially considering Nate Marquardt KO'd him with one punch back in Aug)

What do you think of Anderson Silva? In my view, he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. I was ready to kill him myself after I spent $45 to watch him dance for 25 min, but after his recent dismanting of Forrest Griffin, I am now reassured that he is as close to unbeatable as you can get. What do you think?

some of you may not know about Igor Vovchanchyn well he in my mind is one of the best fighters of all time. With a record of 47 wins 9loses 1 draw and 1 no contest. he has fought fighters such as Gary Goodridge (twice), Mark Kerr (twice), Kazushi Sakuraba, Mark Coleman, Gilbert Yvel, Valentijn Overeem, Heath Herring, Quinton Jackson, Mirko Filipovic, and Alistair Overeem. He has stated recently that he is not going to fight anymore. Here is what he said, I’m a businessman now. I won’t come back. Sure I think about it every once in a while, but I’m 35, you know. The main problem is the injuries. I can’t even strike with my right hand. I got three screws in my right elbow and one in the left. But the Korean MMA organization Fighting Mixed Combative had annouced that he will be fighting in September 26 of this year. So what do you guys think about all this? Do you think its a good idea for him to go for it? Aftre all he has stated once that word for word, "I want to be the most famous fighter in the world and the richest. And you know what? I'll do it." Or do you think he should retire at the young age of 35?

Anyone else think that was a poor decision on Saturday evening.At one point Franklin was clearly gone and Silva should have done a more clinical job than he did to finish it off.Silva was also the aggressor throughout the fight,now I'm not the best person to ask about UFC judgments and the scoreing system .I understand that points are given when a fighter is put to the ground and for punches and kicks landed and effort made but I think points should be given for having the largest balls because Silva has got a pair and Frankly they Were bigger than Franklins and that should have won it for him.This is the first I have watched a UFC card from start to finish the the Mustapha Vs Mirko Cro cop was a bit of a miss match Mustapha after 1 minute wanted nothing to do more than get the hell outta there.
