Hello everyone! Although we are currently in a pandemic, San Jose Chess Club has decided to organize it's first otb swiss tournament. Currently, all the tournaments are invite-only, but later today another otb tournament will be announced, where it is open registration to players with otb ratings between 1000 - 1400. That tournament will be 4-6 players based on the interest, and it is first come, first serve. Hi everyone! We are contemplating hosting a otb tournament in mid-february for players in San Jose, Fremont, and the surrounding areas. We want to see how many people are interested before we make a final decision. The tournament will be 3-4 rounds, a time control of 60/d5 or something close to that. Keep in mind THIS TOURNAMENT WILL HAVE AN ENTRY FEE OF $30+. This tournament will only be for players above 1800 as of now. Also keep in mind for this tournament there will be NO prize money. All proceeds will go to our club and will pay for supplies. If you are interested, please put your name in the comments below. If we do the tournament, it will be first come first serve. The tournament will have max 8 players. This tournament will be USCF OTB Rated! Disclaimer: This tournament can get canceled based on the Covid-19 situation.
