Hi all! I live in Moon Twp but I work downtown Pittsburgh. Is anyone downtown during the day? I would like to find someone to play a game with at lunch time downtown.

Hi everyone! I was hoping to go to the Adam C. Bert memorial on July 18 in Washington, PA (http://www.pitt.edu/~schach/Flyers/1st_Annual_Adam_C_Bert_Memorial_Open.pdf) but don't have transportation. Is there anyone going from the Pittsburgh area that would be willing with whom I could hitch a ride to/from? (if not, that's okay but if so, just message me). Thanks :)

The person I am playing against in the Paris match is playing 72 games at the same time. I think I'm in for a long game as he pushes the limit each move! I'm playing 9 games simultaneously, which doesn't seem a lot since I'm retired. How many do all of you play at once?

Looking for any insight into chess clubs, tournaments, or local play in the Pittsburgh area. Thanks.
Hey everyone. Looking for a little help. I'm considering pursuing a USCF rating (I've never had a USCF rating). I would like to play in face-to-face tournaments, or at least a club that meets regularly. I understand to obtain a USCF rating, I need to do the following: 1) Join USCF 2) Play in USCF tournaments My question is, where in the Pittsburgh area are USCF tournaments? I've searched the USCF website and on google, finding the Morgantown Chess Club and the Pittsburgh Chess League. Have any of you participated in either of these? Are there other USCF tournaments in the area that you know of? Is it a difficult process to obtain a USCF rating? I know several of you have USCF ratings. Just looking for any insight you could share (how did you get your USCF rating? where do you play your USCF sanctioned games). Thanks in advance for your help.
