Ok, so for those of you who have been following the WCC, you know that Boris Gelfand has been holding his own throughout the 12 game match and has proven that he deserves to be playing the World Champion.
12 out of 12 "Classical" games have been played with the match tied 6-6.
We had a brief moment of hope when Gelfand pulled out an awesome win against Anand in Game #7.
Well played Gelfand!!!
However, this lead for Gelfand would not last very long... The next day Anand came back and won a VERY quick game against Gelfand due to a blunder that cost Gelfand his queen.
After this game the score was tied and everyone thought that Anand had gotten his confidence back... But the next 4 games were drawn.
Now with the scores still tied they move into the rapid games. (Time control for rapid games: 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move.)
If after 4 rapid games the score is still tied than they will play 10 blitz games, (Time control for blitz games: 5 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move.).And finally if after 10 blitz games the score is still tied than they will play 1 final "armageddon" game, (Time control for armageddon game: 5 minutes for White, 4 minutes for Black. If the game is a draw, the player of the black pieces is declared the winner of the match.)
So good luck to both players in these final tie break games!
