I have "invented" an unorthodox opening setup. The QB would eventually get fianchettoed, though whether through a a3-b4 setup or a classical b3 setup, would depend on the position. Alternatively, the KN could go to f3. The idea with this attack is that it is slightly more active than the traditional hippo and reduces black's options somewhat. Also, the KN can go to g3 eventually, whereas the pawn is on that square in the traditional hippo. The intended move order would be through 1 g4 d5 2 h3 etc. Any comments or suggestions?

How exactly do you play the borg? I mean I know that the starting moves are 1 e4 g5, but not any farther. Could someone give me a little bit of theory pls?

I am collaborating on a novel with 2 other writers. We have a scene where a university professor plays chess with one of his students. He sort of "analyzes" her based on her method of play. What I'm looking for is an unorthodox game but strongly played by both sides -- no glaring mistakes. It's probably better if the game is shorter too, not a 50 or 60-move game. I'm thinking 1. Na3 or Frankenstein-Dracula or Latvian Gambit, but keeping my options open. Anyone willing to share one of their games for the book or have an appropriate game in mind?

I'm looking for a couple of members that are interested in becoming Group Admins. I dont have much time to focus on this group and would really like some members to step up and help promote the group and run tournaments and vote chess games. If you're interested please message me. Thanks! Boog.
This is a recent Elephant Gambit win of mine! Annotated by me.. analysis by Rybka 3.
Hello all. I'm a new admin here for Unorthodox Openings. I feel the group needs to be a bit more active. And how better than to compete in a couple of group vote chess games? Of course, we'll live up to our group name and play some obscure openings, which will hopefully get our opponents out of book moves pretty quickly. Make sure to be apart of any upcoming group vote chess game, as we'll need your opinion for the winning move! We lost our last vote chess game. But not because of bad moves! We lost on time. If we stay active and participate in these games, that won't happen again.
Macho Grob Thematic Tournament. I need 5 more players...
