It’s time to register for this year’s Under 1600 League. It’s an earlier start than last year to capitalise on the extra free time many of us have for some reason.

Registration will be open until the end of the month so please sign up by 30th April to avoid missing out. Post your team’s name and points-of-contact below to enter.

All county/city teams are welcome to enter. The format will probably be similar to last year (groups of around 6, group winners play each other) unless anyone has any radical new ideas.

1st May

Welcome to the 2020 edition of our Under 1600 League. Thank you so much for the great response: we have a record 25 teams, almost as many as are in the main league. This includes 5 new clubs: Glamorgan, Oxford Ospreys, Glasgow, Aberdeenshire, and Hertfordshire, so a warm welcome to our newcomers.

4 groups (3 groups of 6, and 1 of 7) will play a round robin, with matches starting between May and September. The 4 group winners will play a final round, starting early 2021, to find the winner. If the group winners have not been decided by 1st February 2021, we will judge the winners of each group the best we can and start the final round then.

Note that Group A has 2 more rounds than other groups, but only 1 more game, because each team has a 'no fixture' round. Group A will play 2 rounds simultaneously in both August and September.

Group B is also special because for the first time in the CCC we have teams from every country in Britain and Ireland competing against each other.

Edit 21st May: Since there are free spots in some groups that can be filled without messing up the schedule, and since we have so many new groups about, we can welcome Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire & Rutland to the competition.

@Tricky_Dicky has set up a rather wonderful spreadsheet to keep track of scores, but it requires team admins to use a specific naming convention for matches.

Please name your matches like this: 'CC20 U1600 [Group] [Round] [Team 1] [Team 2]'
For example: 'CC20 U1600 GrA R1 Sussex vs Oxford Ospreys'

Please use the following settings when setting up your matches:
