The key is scheduling the game in advance so that both teams have players that are ready to play and can keep the game from timing out. It's also the trickiest part as there are people from all parts of the globe, and what's a perfect time for one person is bed time for another. You only need to play 1 game every 2 weeks, so while it is very time consuming DURING the game, you get a lot of down time in between them.

Since you guys are #29 on the Vote Chess Leaderboard, I wanted to invite you to participate in the next season of the Fortnight Speed Vote League. We play Vote Chess at 10-mins per turn, which is incredibly intense, exciting, and addictive. It can also be very time consuming as an average game can last 7-10 hours (the longest game in Season 1 was over 21 hours), and SOMEONE needs to be online to make a move every 20 minutes (no one needs to be online for the whole game of course, as long as SOMEONE is there to stop the game from timing out).
If this speed is too fast for you, I can completely understand, I just wanted to give you the opportunity of joining if you wanted to. All you need to do is complete 1 Vote Game at 10-mins per turn (against any group) to prove that you can go the distance without timing out, and put your name in this thread (before October 1st):
