I don't think so; but I can't come up with any other sane reason to have so many games. ![]()
Limitations on participation
It's too dismissive to suggest that people who spend huge amounts of time playing large numbers of chess games have no job, family or hobbies. We really don't know what their personal circumstances are. Not everyone has the freedom to use their time conventionally. If someone is confined longterm to a hospital bed, or at sea, or in prison, or on the space station - you name it - then who are we to say they can't use their time to play lots of games of chess?
Why is it that this topic has not died? Why was this topic even brought up? Why are people bothered at all about how many games some stranger has going? It's like complaining about someone's choice of toothpaste....or is it? Could there be an underlying, unspoken concern? I think there is.
Just want a reasonable limit on number of games so tournaments are completed more timely. Thought more people would think playing over 500-2200 games at once was a hindrance. If not, then let chess.com settle matter as I will just avoid these players in my future matches. Case closed for me. Have nothing more to add. Take care everybody.
I think; introducing a Parameter Maximum Current Games [on the page where we create a match/tournament] would help.
I agree. The "million gamers" pick up a lot of games from the tournaments, then proceed to slow these tournaments down immensely.
@NickawampusLeroy, I did not mean to offend you. Sorry, if I did. I was trying to get the unbelievers to realize that there REALLY IS a problem here.

Do they actually keep that record on the site as an achievement for everyone to observe?
