Match Problems

I can just confirm that seen on bottom of the screenshot, deep-blou, coeurdelyon and nicojazz played earlier only for Toulouse.
and andychess, mariheva, jo-joker, swrhal and oumzil did not play for any team before.
As for any penalties, let the Referee Committee decide. I have no opinion.
Both admins have done a great job attracting people in the match - and what? - then one excludes some of those people to obtain a presumably better result? - does it worth that? I think that no.
In general I should say that the circumstances of some other matches and the "cuisine" of some groups (seen by me from the inside) have recently disappointed me very much. I need to think about the place that this site takes in my life.

Let us consider this penalty for the next season. It can be a nice addition to the rules.
As for the current match, let the Referee Committee decide.

I would support caster in this case. I have seen similar approach from some teams in my 960 league, but in none of the cases it was with so many players as in this case. And it generally hasnt affected overall results. But this item cant be really left with not clear penalization in rules and enforcing it (unfortunatelly additional work for tourney admins) as just gentelman requirement of following rules doesnt work in internet world.
I will have quite strict rules on this topic (but still I havent found exact 100 percent working solution) and CWOS will need it too.

Hello Marignon, Hello Everybody,
I would like to put on the table the case of team Babylon.
From the 34 players from the match below from Team Babylon, only 2 players have Babylon city on their profiles. Most of them are from different cities fro m Iraq.
http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=591742
Our team Bucharest from this match has 32 players from bucharest with only 2 exceptions.
I know Marignon that you are organizing a very beatiful competition. Is the most beautiful and exciting competition where our team partcipates until now.
And i know that you don't have time to check all players of each team what have written on their profile
also i know that somebody coudl write on their profile a city where they work although they were born in another city. i also understand this. But from this to a majority of 99% of the players outside Babylon city it's a long way.
i hope that your kindness to accept a lot of teams to this competitiomn would not affect it and would not let other mercenary teams to take advantage of your kindness Marignon.
Please analyze this case and tell me your opinion.
i truly understand you that you like to organize this beautiful competition and not to be a judge between unfair practices.
unfortunately, a part of the humanity are unfair. And somebody should make justice. And i don't know someone else to ask for justice because apart that you are the organizer i also know you from the other competitions like admin of team Moscow and it seems to me that you are very good and honest person.

Bobi, Babylon is not a living city, but a historical monument. It represents a common heritage for all Iraqi people.

În this case why did you permited this team to be în this competițion? Because it.s against the rules for people being from all over iraq. Being from all over a country.
This îs a city competițion.
I propose to allow to this competition only city teams that their players are from that city.
I entered this competition because it.s a city competition and because we represent a city with players from one city.
If team babylon will play next year to this competition and also the kind of teams with players from all over the country, next year team Bucharest will not participate to this competition.

Marignon, i awe you a big respect because you founded this group to be a better gruop than WCL where the rules are not followed. I think exactly like you regarding the unfair practices from WCL.
Here we are with a new start and new competition and you are doing the same.
You and the members voted some rules and you are breaking them aloowing to participate a team with players from all over the country.
Please reconsider this. This competition started in a beatiful way. Please do not brake this beatiful spirit.

Your suggestion was discussed several times earlier. Most teams do not see it as a huge problem.
Now there is no specific rule banning "players from all over the country".

Hi Marignon, so, by saing "Most teams do not see it as a huge problem", you admit that the majority see this as a problem, but not a huge one...
Speeking in this way you are not trying to resolve this "not huge problem", but more over to sweep it under the rug. If you don't like to resolve this in a trasparent way, sooner or later this "not huge problem" will start to stink over this competition. That's will be the unwanted part for this competion which had a nice begining, how bobi184 also pointed.

I believe that this question can be set for voting before start of the next season, then we can see again what is opinion of majority of teams competing here. That way, there will be no need to point if something is a huge or minor problem, it will be simple voting for or against some concrete proposition.

Yes, exactly. The voting will be held in January. Admins of 12 top teams will participate.
I understand your concerns and will include it in the agenda.
If you are interested in other topics related to the rules and have other suggestions you can suggest them here:
http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/competition-format-for-the-next-year

By the way, bobi and Radmar, look here http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=594756 What do you think about this match?

I found only one player in Team Rasht which has on his description Rasht at his location. Probably more than half for Team SPb.
I don't want to offend anyone, but I totally disagree with this kind of teams and their preparation in this competition.

Hello Marignon,
The match from WCL that you pointed me will happend also în this competițion if you allow the teams of type of Babylon with the majority of country players.
If you wil not correct this some teams will withdraw from the competition next year and some teams will revenge by bringing also country players.
And the beauty of this comcompetițion will dissapear.
I think that the fundament of this competition îs city competition aș you also introduced the word City în the name of the competițion.
Change the name of the competition and let all groups from chess.com to participate. We will have nothing to object în this case.

My last thing to add îs that your answer that îs not a huge problem really dissapointed me. I thought you are different Marignon.

Bobi, let's be serious - can you offer an easy way to implement your suggestion? Actually can you formulate it as a rule?
On what basis do you suggest to check the team integrity:
when? - before the competition, before each match, etc;
how? - by the city field? else? if missing? ;
what should admins do with those who don't live in their cities, but wish to play for their team?
which percent of "true city players" do you consider as good?
