The Battle for Bulldog Island Discussion
That's a lot of rounds, though. I think the biggest tournament yet has had 4 or 5 rounds, though you could try a different type of tournament.
The draw idea is flawed as moving up creates an incentive to draw. 1. e4 e5 *offers draw* … *accepts*
I would suggest for draws, black moves on and white does not. That provides incentive for white to go for the win at all costs.
But on hex boards we will have discussions about the piece movements.
we won't have hexes, they will still be squares accept that we could add gaps, that only leapers can jump over or ledges that you can go only one direction from

that makes sense, or how about making it so that if you draw both players move down. and then they play each other again if one wins they move up and other stays, or draw until they reach the ship. Also part of idea only to allow draws by stalemate, insufficient material, and repetitions.

True. Perhaps that is a good idea.

do you like my idea?? on #15
I came up with an idea of a bulldog tournament, except that in every round there will be a differently shaped of the board, and there will be a total of 9 differently shaped boards. Then I thought that I could put on an island and theme in like a quest. That is when the idea hit me, "Bulldog Island!!". Then I immediately started working on a map. And this is what I made:
Here are the levels
1. Beginners Port
2. Hunter Hills
3. Hopefully Highways
4. Ferny Path
5. Wild River Crossing
6. Lush Jungle
7. Vow Valley OR Dangerous Deserts
8. Creepy Caverns
9. Bulldog Castle
This tournament hasn't started yet because I still have to come up with the board designs, I am open to all suggestions. Also, this will be a neverending tournament. The first person to join will start on Beginners Port and wait for an opponent to arrive on a ship. Once an opponent arrives they will play each other and the winner will move up and the loser will wait for another opponent. If a draw occurs than both players will move up and battle each other at their new level. If one of the now wins they will move up and the loser will move down. If the draws still keep on occurring then the players will be repeating the until level 7 where they will be split up. Those are the rules, for now, I am open to all suggestions, I also know that this will be a big project that I won't be able to mod all the way, that is why I may need help, volunteers thanks (This is also unrated, but the player/s in the level 9 will be called bulldog kings different from World Champions).
