Why are clubs allowed to forcefully play music?

The usefulness in having background music is that most humans tend to find it pleasurable, thus, making the club more attractive for newcomers and more pleasing for its members.

Saying that the music is being forced upon members of the club is akin to saying it's forcing people to play No Vacation tournaments simply because a TD is capable of making a tournament with that restriction. It's a radical statement that completely misses the point.

Each club has its own vibes - its aura - the music is additional sensory input to further establish that. It gives greater depth to the personality of the club - that is its usefulness.

I'm sure you rather have the opportunity to freely express your opinions in forums like this one. Are you forcing every member of this club to read this forum? Are you imposing that great evil upon us? That's ridiculous! We only read it and participate if we choose to - we can ignore a forum just like we can mute the music. Or, we could leave this club and never have to bother with these forums again just like we could leave a musically inclined club altogether. But, it's our choice. It's better to have options (like CC allowing you to make this forum) and everyone can customize as they wish than to have greater restrictions for the sake of an inflexible few.

Has it occurred to you that this can be muted or turned down on the end-user's system, "please show me where and how" if it annoys you so much but not enough to cause you to leave entirely? "this only serves as a inconvenience and we both know that, instead of cc allowing the user to have to take such actions against their original intended will cc should just change it, I don't see why that's a problem, this will save me from the inconveniences and everyone that forcefully hear random music from their device."

Some (many?) Browsers also let you mute the sound from a specific tab, etc. "You are gonna have to go a mission around CC to tell EVERY person that hears forceful music and tell them how to do that (also me) or just let cc do their jobs and save all of us the inconveniences."

Asking the website to police something like "their job, Yes" this when you can either a) just leave "I already told you why that's not a option" or b) just turn the volume down on whatever device you are using "Again, this is not a answer, your literally saying: hundreds of thousands of users (or tens of thousands, all that's in a music club) must put themselves though the inconvenience of having to lower down their Volume (Every Time) when cc can just do their job and fix or change it to make CC a less strenuous exercise because of a feature that doesn't help CC at all".... sorry to say, but it seems a little silly."Yeah, bud, right back at you"

My apologies. I intended a joke, no insult.

Hey, I don't know if you know this or not, but you don't even have to go through the extreme labor of pressing mute on the tab or your device...

You can literally just press Pause Music. The button is hard to miss.

If anyone wants to know how to add music to their club, I can send you to a friend who put music in his club.

Music is heavy subjective and I mean really subjective, there is no "Music for everyone" and that's the problem", thus, making the club more attractive for newcomers and more pleasing for its members."Again, only members that like or tolerate that music which is (in many cases) far from all."

Saying that the music is being forced upon members of the club is akin to saying it's forcing people to play No Vacation tournaments simply because a TD is capable of making a tournament with that restriction. It's a radical statement that completely misses the point. "Chess.com offers "No Vacation" tournaments to prevent delays in daily games, allowing Tournament Directors (TDs) to create events where players must play within time controls or lose, preventing premium features like automatic vacation pauses from kicking in, this isn't forcing people, but providing an option for faster-paced, commitment-focused daily chess, with the "no vacation" icon helping players identify these faster games."

Each club has its own vibes - its aura - the music is additional sensory input to further establish that. It gives greater depth to the personality of the club - that is its usefulness. "your making cc like some arts and crafts project, very few clubs are constructed to follow a theme of music. And again it doesn't outweigh the downside"

I'm sure you rather have the opportunity to freely express your opinions in forums like this one. "that applies to everyone" Are you forcing every member of this club to read this forum? "Only those that interested in club forums and are willing to click on this forum instead of deleting it in notifications" Are you imposing that great evil upon us? That's ridiculous! "You were never good at analogies"We only read it and participate if we choose to - we can ignore a forum just like we can mute the music. "I already said why this is not ok, it still doesn't outwiegh it's downside" Or, we could leave this club and never have to bother with these forums again "Yeah, still doesn't work 😢" just like we could leave a musically inclined club altogether. "wow are you even reading what, I'm saying?" But, it's our choice. It's better to have options (like CC allowing you to make this forum) and everyone can customize as they wish than to have greater restrictions for the sake of an inflexible few. "Comparing something as well structured as forums to random music forcing itself on your device (and then of thousands) isn't it bro🥀"

Actually in many cases there no Pause button. Just music playing from an invisible way (not telling) in sidebar🥀

Changing the forum topic to the opposite of it's intended use Infront of the creator is the rudest of rude.

If you dont know how to turn off the sound on whatever device you're accessing chess.com from, no one can help you.

You can't possibly be serious.

Just google "how do I mute a browser tab" or "how do I control the sound on my computer" and an AI agent will be happy to help you.

You're welcome.

@plux you are correct and it is done but unfortunately there's a heavy downside. EVERYTHING is muted, not just random forced music. ALL URL's (and everything like it) are muted and everything on cc that can play sound (this time features that actually help the cc experience) is muted simply because you guys (including that moderator) won't accept that something needs to be changed. Now my cc experience has officially lost its quality to a degree, because I don't like random forced music playing aloud on my device. Well done sir, well done, that's how people will leave this website 🫡
