The server sent down during this evening's tournament. My game was declared a "draw". I have reported this as a bug to chess.com.

One of the main aims of the new club is to make it easier for members to compete against other players from the West Midlands whom they may often know personally or by reputation. Therefore it would be appreciated if members would give their real names in the 'profile' section for their 'usernames'. You can even provide a personal photo if you like!

Upcoming Events in May

Tyslcab | May 4, 2021
The next two BDCL events will be on the evenings of Saturday, 8th May, and Monday, 10th May. Saturday's tourney will start at 7.45 p.m. and will have a time control of 5 minutes + 5 second increments.  The full running-time will be 2 hours but as long as there are always at least 4 players present it will be possible for players to join late and/or leave early if not available for the full period.  We have never run a Saturday event before so we have no idea how many players to expect! Arena tournament on Monday

The BDCl club's next event will be a 15 minute with a 10 second increment Arena tournament at 7.30 p.m. on Monday 26th April. The direct link to join the tournament is: https://www.chess.com/live#r=1119002 . Registration is from 6.30 p.m. on the night. As this is a 2 hour arena tournament with the slower time control, we need to get as many members playing as possible. It's also good practice for the WMA league. I had a choice between 2 or 4 hours for this and opted for 2. We'll see how th...

Tyslcab | Abr 21, 2021
A 5 minute plus 5 second increment Arena Blitz tourney is scheduled for tonight at 8.00 p.m..  Please come along if you can make it.  It should be possible to join late or to leave early if you can't make it for the full 2 hours.  However, we do need at least 4 players to be there at the start-time - otherwise the software will abort the event no matter how many people may want to join later!
