Is chessnut worth it?

Hello everyone! I'm considering purchasing the Chessnut EVO, the electronic chessboard with Wi-Fi connectivity.

A few questions:

Is the OTB (over-the-board) gameplay smooth and satisfying?
Does the integration with online platforms work well?
Is the AI actually useful, or does it feel limited?
What are the main pros and cons, in your opinion?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Amazon link: https://amzn.to/4imx6Fy  – It costs $620, but if recommended, is there any discount available to slightly reduce the price?

Share your experience if you buy it. For me $600 seems a lot for it but maybe you will enjoy it.

All these e-boards try to take benefits of internet game plus OTB-games but in reality they create new minuses.

Here's something to consider Vs AI OTB experience you can still do with chess. com / lichess ultimately you still have to pick up the pieces and move them. It's only a step more to look up the move rather than have the led lights guide you.

Why not order the EVO directly off the Chessnut Web Site (UseCode EASTER = USD $535.49) https://www.chessnutech.com/pages/chessnut-evo

I have no problems. Why do you say that?

SpanishStallion
The Chessnut app does no longer offer lichess, only chess.com is still active.

Why do you keep saying this? Not true, works fine.

Have you contacted Chessnut Support?

Appears like no conclusive answer here yet. Chess lovers, can you share wisdom here?

Hi, there! I recently bought Chessnut pro with premium pieces, bagand phone stand. This was my ever best chess purchase and I am so happy with it. I play on it with my friends OTB, which allows instantly after the game to make analysis or quick review. I also use the board for online play against human competitors as well as chess bots on chess.com. I make analysis on the board and play from certain positions. I think it is worth to invest money in and believe that other chessnut products are as good as Chessnut pro. I Even consider to buy Chessnut Go as a present for my stepdad, whom I play online, as we live in different countries. My recommendation is Yes, if you found out which Chessnut product you need, go for it. I choose Chessnut pro, you may need another board, but generally speaking they all look good to me after my positive experience.

And, contrary to what one person here keeps repeating, it does work perfectly with Lichess.

Yes, Chestnut is worth it!

Not at all, Chessnut no longer offers lichess on its app which is a pity!
SpanishStallion
I have now been able to access lichess on chessnut via a software trick! Therefore I can use both chess.com and lichess as of today

Seems like someone has a specific problem with Chessnut only. I guess others can solve the issues.
