Honkong and Taiwan are not internationally recognized countries!!!!
China is also not recognized by all UN member states.
@WinstonArmstrong yes but you can probably also just google which UN member states recognize PRC and ROC and figure it out. Last time I checked it was around 14 states.
@WinstonArmstrong you are asking an irrelevant question that does not change the fact that not all UN member states recognize China. A chess site might not be the best place for Chinese propaganda discussions.

I think the controversial issue should be the flag used for Taiwan, since the recognized team is actually Chinese Taipei instead of Taiwan, the flag used for Chinese Taipei should be used instead of Taiwan, just like what's used in the Olympics and other international events. There's no controversy for Hong Kong here since the flag used is the same as that used in the Olympics or other international events.
Some backgrounds here (taken from Wikipedia of Chinese Taipei):
"Chinese Taipei" is the term used in various international organizations and tournaments for groups or delegations representing the Republic of China (ROC), a country commonly known as Taiwan.
Due to the One-China principle stipulated by the People's Republic of China (PRC, China), Taiwan, being a non-UN member after its expulsion in 1971 with ongoing dispute of its sovereignty, was prohibited from using or displaying any of its national symbols such as national name, anthem and flag that would represent the statehood of Taiwan at international events.
