Serious Trolling Problem On Chess.com

First off, I’m sorry to put this in the general chess discussion, I really am, but I think it will get more attention if I place it here. So very recently there has been a certain member (who I can name but will choose not to) who has been trolling. Many of you have probably noticed him. A steady influx of new accounts with different flags and no profile pictures has been disrupting the forums and playing bullet at the 1800-2000 level. I first encountered this troll about a month ago, when they copied what I now consider to be a friend’s name. At least 8-10 accounts have been identified by me, and maybe you have seen me call him/her out in public. The accounts have either been muted or closed.

Unfortunately, this person now harbors a grudge against me for calling him out. He has made a number of accounts in attempt to imitate me and damage my reputation. The account I am aware of is @Jalex113 which has emulated my name, flag and profile picture. He/she has even created a post claiming that he was me and lost his old account. For confirmation that I am the real Jalex, you can check the dates that the accounts were created. I am asking for everyone’s help and possible sympathy to band together as a community to rid ourselves of these disruptive members. If you are willing to help me please let me know.

Sorry, again for putting this in general chess discussion. Please help me, I beg.
Thank you.

Also, the best method to handle such an account is to report, block and ignore in other topics until the site handles it.

Will the site handle it though? And it’s annoying when someone is impersonating me…

His serotonin levels seem to be highly low by this particularly inhumane act.

Hey Martin, I have it on good authority (actually probably just an aircon repairman) that you're breeding trolls 😉

(Obligatory smiley added so I don't get muted or banned)

I think I should sign up to be a moderator. Like no offense, but I’m online like half the day and would keep a close watch all the time.

Call your mod account @JAlert.

Dang, taken

The bad part is it’s so easy to create new accounts.

Moderators have limits on what can be done but you have to have an account for at least a year to qualify.

Why are there people who intend to make accounts like that? Speechless

*Snip* The forum is filled with immature spam topics (such as “Last Comment Gets 10 Trophies!”, AKA, “Fill This Thread with Gibberish to Boost my Online Popularity!”). *Snip*

Perhaps there's just a rise in mental disorders among kids and young adults today.
