I'm not saying this site doesn't have its upsides (they do, especially the number of players on here), but those upsides is largely due to a superior domain name and an established brand. To pay so much for bloat services that you can get elsewhere with such a resource-light game as chess doesn't make much sense to me.

Even though I have a premium membership, I haven't taken advantage of all the lessons, etc offered for the past two years probably. I didn't cancel though as I feel like the staff should get paid for all their work as I suspect they don't get paid a whole lot. The moderators should be compensated too, I think.
Not everyone can afford a membership, obviously, but since I can, I mainly want to support salaries of the staff. I think it's a great site.
xD yeah, one I usually get a membership, but one time, someone upgraded my membership. I was a little surprised, but I was happy :D. The thing was- I think the member’s account was 1 day old...
