Hi there! Here are some book recommendations:
OPENINGS:
Modern Chess Openings contains a complete reference on chess openings. This is a great book and I would highly recommend it for learning/choosing your openings.
ENDGAME:
Silman's Complete Endgame Course book is an excellent choice. I find Silman's writing easy-to-digest and, best of all, he divides the lessons by rating; so you only learn what is necessary for your level of play, or "class".
OTHER CHESS BOOKS:
Other recommendations would be Logical Chess: Move by Move by Irving Chernev and My 60 Memorable Games by Bobby Fischer. Later on as you get better you'll want to pick up Silman's "How to Reassess Your Chess" (a great book definitely worth having), as well as "The Amatuer's Mind".
Hope this helps! :)
Ive seen this done a few times before! But I will try to be specific as to what I am looking for.
I am not looking for a book for a specific rating level, or to fix a certain weakness in ones games. I would like beginner and master level books and opening to endgame books alike to be considered.
I am looking for books that are well written and worth reading time and time again.
I love books and I love chess.
My question is this: What books has dchess contribute to the wealth of world literature?
I am not looking for any particular number, I am simply looking for the best of what our genre has to offer.
Thanks in advance :)
