best gui for teaching?

Hello all, I got the idea to help some of the lower rated chess players in my team. I'm far from be able to called isctructon but i think that an 1800 palyer can be helpfull to someone with elo range 1000-1300.

So i starded to wonder what its the best interface to teach someone thats not close to you. Chess.com live chess its an option because you can make unrated games, but the problem its taht piece cannot me taken back, and i canno move pieced of both players. Same thing if it comes to analyze finsioced games. i cannot upload a pgn and share a view with someone else. So i'm wondering if there is something better. FOr example once there was a chess plugin on skype, so we could talk and move pieces, but nowadays those skype extras are no longer supported. I can share my desktop and just use any gui, but that means that i'm the only one that can move pieces.

There is any gui around that can connech each other using an IP and allow move forward and back and allow both players to move both pieces and stuff like this?

Its really pitty that chess.com sont allow to share the analisys board with someone else......

tnx for any advice...

This isn't the ideal solution either but don't forget that turn based or correspondence games (what Erik insists on calling online) do have an unrated "takeback" mode.  Takebacks can be done by either player and chat can be used to communicate.  You don't even need to both be online at the same time; play a game and offer analysis in the chat " you sure you want to do that ? I think you're missing a "remove the defender" tactic that's now possible." etc.  For really detailed analysis you could send messages, even if it's just "cut and paste" move listing from your own analysis board.  Just my usual $.02 from someone with a whole jar full of pennies. Laughing

They do! Have you tried the live analysis board?

The page says it's for platinum and diamond members only, but I seem to recall that that info was outdated and gold members can use it as well. I don't remember for sure, you'll have to try and see for yourself.

no.. gold members cannot use it. I tried.

And anyway you cannot use it to analyze online games, just past live games, and i think the only one that can see the live analysis are the prople who did the match.

The online game with take backs are the closest thing, but obviosly you cannot easilly show variation and take back 4-5 moves and i cannot move both players.

I'm starting to wonder what tools the real instructors we have on chess.com use..

Sorry, I must have confused it with something else, then...

@badogno: i already used the takeback option few times, but its too slow if you want to show an opening, and quickly show some variation, go back and then continue playing.

Its good only to point out some blunders and allow the opponent to take back a move.

I recommend the examine feature at FICS.

I use the chess live board here quite a bit and Ive found it to be very useful. I can copy and paste games from chessbase and allow the student access to move the pieces, even illigal moves to show ideas. Highlighting the squares and drawing arrows are great on there.
