Best portable chess computer?

Sort:

Not computer program but a physical chess computer itself.  Ideally at least 1800+ rated.  It's for my coworker who wants one.

Thanks,

Also quite excellent is the stuff from Novag

Were you thinking a table-top chess set or a handheld chess set?

I agree, Novag is a excellent choice. I had one in my college days

Or try any palm device with Open Chess (free). People usually prefer the palm displays more than the proprietary handhelds (novag etc). Quite strong too, very strong. A great commercial palm prog is Hiarcs--looks better on the screen, if that matters.

This one is quite good. Pretty strong (1900-2000), and lots of levels, easy to hold and pieces easy to grab and move. https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php?title=Mephisto_Diplomat_Advanced_Travel_Chess_Computer
