Based in Jura, in the heart of the Biel valley, the Lambert family company has manufactured chess sets like this very beautiful box with a particularly refined finish. The eyes of the riders are made of glass. The underside of each piece is lined with felt which gives them a great lightness of movement, giving the illusion that they are floating on the tray. Finally, each piece is hollowed out in the center of its seat. A lead is introduced there to give more stability to the parts. Tray: 38.5 x 38.5 cm. The king measures 9.5 cm.

Not Chavet - but

Here is an 82 mm set I just received today. It looks to be from the 70s. The set is in good condition overall minus some minor condition issues.
Here are the condition issues:
1. Chipped king's cross
2. A scratch on the bishop
3. 4 bishop leaners
Overall, I am very happy with this set. This will replace my HoS 3.25" Grandmaster analysis set.
@RichardHG and @TheOneCalledMichael Thanks! The knights are lovely. These are better than my 90 mm knights from the early 2000s. I can't imagine having a size 6 or larger from the 70s larger like @WalterBiensur and @Ronbo710 have.
Here is a B210 I picked up recently on eBay. It comes with no label or reference number. However, it has a 3.625" (92 mm) king with a box that has the Henri Chavet logo on it. There are no cracks or leaners. There are plenty of loose weights, bad felts, and uneven staining. Oh and the box is missing the divider. None of which are deal breakers for me.
As with the old sets, there are always issues.
Congratz buddy! I'd have replaced those old felts anyway so I'd fixed the loose weights along with it. Gorgeous set.

Thanks! I've never fixed weights or felts before but I am sure I can find some info here at CB&E.
@MCH818 Loose weights? Or missing weights? Do you have them to glue back in?
If you're up for a little "fun". How about giving that tired Chavet set an upgrade with Tungsten powder and an interesting color billiard baize after yanking out all the original lead weights like a demented dentist. Now THAT would make an interesting post. Always thinking about quality, positive content here on CB&E. Haha.
Mister Pawn suggestion brings me on another idea, I'd consider the option to fill them up with wood dust/glue paste and wool cloth of course 😉. The jura wood is densed/massive enough to be unweighted and yet quite hefty.

There were no missing weights. Some just fell out and were inside of the box along with the old felts. There were some loose weights rattling inside other pieces as well. Off the top of my head, there are around 10 pieces with loose weights that need to be addressed.
Tungsten?!... That's a great idea. But I probably wouldn't want to pull out the rest of the weights. These are lead after all. I read it is safe as long as there is no lead dust, but who knows.
It is a great idea. It is probably not for me unless all of the pieces had loose weights.
I like the "pistachio" Chavet green . I have a similar vintage carving in a beautiful blood red stain ...
I really love it! I hope I can make you discover the same (color), just more "cluber" ;-)
