ChessBase software

I'm looking to get ChessBase for the first time.  Any tips on which version to buy and the best value?  Also, where is the best source to get it?

Just my .02, but at your level chessbase is not necessary.  But if you still want to shell out the money for it?  Start with the basic package.

I just started getting lessons today to work on improving my rating and my coach suggested getting some version of it so we can use it for some of her pre-made lessons.  It looks like I can get older versions that work well enough, but which one to buy?  

If you need something just to read .cbh files?(chessbase files).  Use the free version chessbase reader.

For a Long term plan, best to buy the latest version. Fortunately Chessbase is having their 25% discount on their site. I cannot confirm when they will pull the discount, but it happens once a year.
