Hi, I am interested by the beta version. I have a DGT board with an usb connection (no bluethooth). Where can I send my email? My pseudo is cramh. Thanks.
Chessconnect: a free chrome extension for electronic chessboards

@joernupde: I am still very happy with your plugin. But I see just one issue. And I think it has to do something with the same issue I have on the Chess.com Android App. As you maybe remember I have the Millennium King Performance. Now here is the problem, After I finish a game (Well, most of the time the other player gives up). When I select "NEW" on the King Performance, the connection with the board is lost and almost all LED's are blinking. I can only start a new game by turning off the Chesslink, and turn it back on. Is this normal behavior? Or can you fix this in the extension?
Hi, Martin!
I just checked with my King Competition with chess.com and USB. After the first game has ended, I press "New" on the Millennium board and then start a new game on chess.com. That worked nicely. I am afraid, I cannot help here. 😔

hello! First of all, congratulations for all the work. I'll tell you my case in case it's of any use to you.
I have a DGT Pegasus board and a Tabutronic Sentio. I use Chessconnect + Kiwi Browser on an Android mobile.

@Anpear_chess: I am not quite sure, if I get you rpoint. But that setup should work nicely at least with version 3.3 which is likely to be released next week.

Tabutronic runs not with Android yet. USB Boards supported with Windows and Linux clients. A Bluetooth LE Adapter for this boards will released by the vendor soon. The Pegasus will work on Android. Dirk

These last few days I have been using the Tabutronic Sentio with the BLE adapter without problems. I didn't know that I could also use the DGT. I'll try it.

To use the BLE adapter I used an .img that Certabo gave me. (It is not on their website yet). The SD is modified. This is how I left the Tabutronic:
1) With USB cable I can play in WhitePaw, Dojo Chess, Tabutronic App, Lucas Chess, etc.
2) With BLE adapter I can play on lichess.com and chess.com without problems (kiwi browser + chessconnect)

All fine, I have also one of this adapter, but normal user did not have this yet. I will only indicate that not all Tabutronic User could run 3.3 on Android without that.
Best
And since I am on it anyway: DGT3000 now displays opponents move until this move is mirrored on the physical board. Or will display once Chessconnect 3.3 is released.
You mean that in the next version, it will be able to see in the DGT3000 the opponent move, right?
I have a DGT Pi and in this version of the Chrome extension I can´t see anything in the clock screen. Maybe my cable to connect the board to the table is not working properly...
Best regards
Version 3.2 does not handle the DGT3000. Version 3.3, which will be released later this month, does. And yes: when your opponent make a move, that move will be displayed on the clock until you make that move on your DGT board. Then, the clock will switch back to showing the remaining times.
That will be amazing. Thank You.
I'm wondering whether Chessconnect support will be extended to other online platforms than Chess dotcom and Lichess (such as Playchess/Chessbase or others) in the future. That would be a dream come true. Just thinking.

For playing: playchess by chessbase and fide online arena (chessarena.com) would be a great gift.
For training chessable would be a fantastic option.

Version 3.3 is finally out: 🥳
- works with DGT™ e-Boards
- works with DGT™ Pegasus
- can display moves and times on DGT3000 chess clock
- multiple languages (Englisch, Italian, French, German)
- better ergonomics on Android™
- many, many, many internal improvements
Me and the beta testers did extensive testing before this release went public. However, we are now releasing to a user base of almost 1000 chess players. So, I expect some problems with this new release. Please be patient, let me know, and I will iron out everything as quickly as I can.
I wish you many good games with this new release. Lots of hours went into this.
😎

Wow! This is quite an update.
Well done Jörn, your commitment to this and to the chess community is outstanding.
1000 users is a nice little base, I know I am pushing it on as many platforms as I can.
And thank you to all the people who contributed to the languages, while I do not speak anything other than English, having the other languages really does wonders for getting more people using the extension.
To all those who are happy users, do not forget to leave a review on the extension.
Again, excellent work Jörn, really appreciate all the effort you put into this.

In my recent test games I found a (hopefully) minor bug in the code for boards with hall sensors (i.e. Sentio and Pegasus) that could lead to too many or too few LEDs being lit for one or two moves. Should this happen to you, just make sure the positions on the board and in the browser match and wait for about three seconds. Chessconnect will use this time to resynchronize itself.
This is of course being worked on and will soon be fixed.

Hi Dirk,
I hear about your setup and find it quite intriguing. Can you send me a console log? I have a Pi 4b here but without the display. Can I recreate your setup with that?
Jörn
P.S.: Feel free to contact me directly.

(I think that will work).

I like that Chessconnect capability is the topmost selling point. 🥳
I have been working together with the head developer for some time now and much effort has been put into this board. I did not have the chance to play one, yet, but the guy who invented it is extremely passionate about his work. 👍
I am still working on the clock, though. But the clock will be supported by Chessconnect in the very near future, too.
Feature suggestion: In-person rated games with one board
Some friends and I regularly get together to play chess in-person. We all have chess.com accounts and we've often bemoaned the fact that none of our in-person games are tracked/rated on chess.com. I recently bought a Chessnut electronic board and discovered the chessconnect extension. Initially I thought it would be possible for us to start playing rated games in-person with my board, but it looks like it's only possible for one user to connect to the board at a time. Would it be possible for chessconnect to facilitate controlling one user's moves with the white pieces and the other user's moves with the black pieces of a single electronic board so we could do real OTB chess but have the game, analysis, rating and everything that comes with online chess.com games?
On the extension support page where I also requested this feature, Jörn said he would consider it if enough people seconded the request. So if this is something you also would be interested in, please show your support by reacting with a
