Brad does great work! He's a member here and requests/uses our feedback in his creations. Looks like a really nice board in your pictures!
Colorado Woodworker Custom Chess Board

Very, very nice board. I love the minimalist border. The only thing that would set it apart for me would be a small black border between the squares and the walnut(?) frame, just to differentiate the edge of the squares and the frame.
Those sets look great on that board, especially the last one, Latvian(?) from Chess Bazaar?

I agree with Rsava. I would even like to see an even smaller border. How small can it be before it is too small?

I debated between having something with boarders or without. They seem a lot bigger in the images, but overall when playing they are not distracting.

That's just it, they do not look big at all in the pics. It it near perfect, except for the lack of contrast between the border and the dark squares (for me at least).

It looks like some of the squares aren't fully square though? Is it the perspective fooling me or is that actually the case?

It may be perspective. i did take the photo at an odd angle.

Nice contrasting colors: Maple? (like Drueke)
But I prefer larger borders😊 (for wooden boards)
yes its walnut and maple. I think the original Druekes where Birch and Walnut, but don't quote on me on that

Birch is correct. William Drueke III (grandson of the legendary patriarch) now makes the boards and sells them on eBay.....

So on this website i have seen so many beautiful sets I thought I would share this creation from Colorado Wood Worker
