Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I'm aware of the DVDs, but owning the original printed copies has extra value for many people. Will look into that Facebook group. (Anyone else have suggestions?)
Complete set of Inside Chess - advice?
The Facebook group was closed; I imagine they would have admitted me, but I decided to just post the Inside Chess collection on eBay instead.

You would have gained access in hours if you clicked on join. It's a great group.
There is a problem with magazines, they just don't command the price they once used to, in my opinion.

I have about 30 years of Chess Life magazine in storage. Available cheap to anyone who wants to pick them up in Tampa, or pay for shipping ...
**EDIT: Available FREE

I also hate to throw out of CL/CR mags but the years from 1974 going forward just aren't worth anything. Even full sets from the 50's and 60's no longer command much money. I have Chess Digest mags that also fall into the same boat. The only Cheee mags I wanted to collect and complete which I have done were the American Chess Quarterly. You can still buy each issue for about $6 to $8 for the most part. Great magazine.

I love New in Chess, but they cost more (about $8 each), and they appear not to maintain much re-sale value. I remember seeing random individual copies of NIC selling for $1-2 each at an OTB Orlando tournament.

If you don't find a buyer, a local chess club would likely appreciate them for their library and you could use it as a charitable donation come tax time I believe.

Yes, good idea, but I already asked clubs and the main scholastic chess organizers around town, but no interest. I literally can't give them away! I guess most consumers these days prefer content on the computer screen via streaming or DVD/CD.

Turbo... Have any from 1972 ?
I will check, and be able to report back within 3 days. If I forget, please send me a reminder.

Thanks Turbo & will do...

I sold just 2 years ago the first 2 complete years of NIC on eBay and it didn't even fetch $25 in an auction, it was pathetic. These were the small magazines the first 2 years.
When you collect and this goes for anything, just enjoy it and do not think of it as an investment because chances are the item will be worth much less when you go sell it then when you bought it. Yes there are exceptions but just enjoy your hobby is what I am saying. Don't think of it as a money stream.
Hi,
I'm looking to sell a complete set of Inside Chess magazine (1988-2000), nearly 300 issues. This magazine was founded by GM Yasser Seirawan and featured tons of interesting articles and analysis.
I was considering putting it on eBay, but I don't know how many serious chess buyers would see it there. Any other suggestions on where I might be able to find the right kind of buyer? Thanks.
