CT-ART 6.0 - PLEASE HELP!

I need some advice:

I am an intermediate player who is hungry to improve quickly.

A friend of mine -who also acts as my chess coach- advised me to focus on tactics for now and he suggested that I should buy the CT-ART 6.0 (he promised I will never need to buy another tactics software/book/DVD ever again!).

He said that this is the newest version of what he considers the best tactics software out there.

He also showed me a link with the lowest price on the internet:

http://shop.chessdom.com/products/ct-art-6-dot-0-for-download-discount-pack

Do you guys think this is an investment worth making?

He also told me there are more than 10,000 puzzles of increasing difficulty in CT-ART 6.0.

Is this true?!?

Thanks in advance!

I agree that CT-Art is the best tactics software you can get.  But what you need to forget about is this idea of improving quickly.  I have CT-ART 3.0, and except for the interface being updated its the same software.

Free sites like chesstempo.com are also excellent.

I agree with Diakonia.

CT-ART is indeed the best tactics software you can get.

If money is not an issue, I would definitely suggest you getting the CT-ART since there is a distinct advantage compared to excellent free tactics sites, like chesstempo:

You get thousands of tactics puzzles tailored to your level; the puzzles get increasingly difficult as you become better and they keep challenging you until you become a tactics monster!

BTW, the price of CT-ART 6.0 in the site you mention zarkoth2014, is the cheapest out of all the sites I have found.

Well done for spotting it!

And you can get thousands of tactics tailored to your level at Chess Tempo too.  Along with detailed statistics, built-in repetition training and an interface that's not annoying to use.

I think CT-ART 6 is very good.  It also includes several other courses for lower rated folks also.  I use it for when I don't have internet access.  Just be sure to download the latest Peshka 2.01 version/patch.

Actually in CT-ART 6 they have included hundreds of new tactics, as well as several other new courses (mainly it looks like for folks with lower ratings like myself)

Very nice!  Good to hear.

It seems now that CT-ART 6.0 now includes chess tactics for beginners. So no need to get a separate product.
