Stunning set- what is it worth?
@anat743, that's a question most people won't answer online. I obviously have no idea what @ramip paid for his set, but in my experience, the set, with the G. Parker box, would go for between 1-2K on Ebay, probably to the lower end of that estimate. Insurance estimate, on the other hand, 3-4K. I have the same set, signed Jaques, produced for Asprey London, in separate Parker book-style boxes.
@rcmacmillan I completely agree. Thank you for your answer 👍

Leave it to guys like you to devolve a forum post in attacking and calling names. You met my expectations.
I might point out that you were the one who attacked me first, not the other way around. I've never been good at keeping my mouth shut when people attack me. So why don't you do what I'm going to do, and post another chess set? This is a Chess Bazaar "Sinquefield" set from back when they called it something else. 4.25" king.
That's a beautiful board, where did you get it ? Is it a leather surface ?

@havb1961, I bought that board from Frank Camaratta back around 1998. It was made for the House of Staunton by Geoffrey Parker of England. It is a leather surface, with cut and matched pieces. You can find out more here: https://www.geoffreyparker.com/leather-chessboards/
Thank you very much for your reply

THE CHESS SET YOU SEE WAS ABOUT $5,000.00
Now you are bragging.
No I am not

You stopped giving updates as you get new pieces? I like seeing how things are developing!

@ BMMhunter3d;
Personally I'm not too enamored with figural metal composition type chess sets, but having these two in my personal collection I would display them proudly in my home, 24-7 and 365-6 days a year with no problem whatsoever...
...display them and be as proud as this bird pumping his/her brightly colored breast up for having hem showcasing my "chess cave".

Sorry, forked_again. I didn't want to bore the peeps. I'll do an update.

Wow. How tall is the king. You making any more (Hint Hint )?

Jaionix, the set of pieces is being carved by Misha Sokolov at Megrina in Russia. I have a red Bishop, the white Queen, and the pawns of both armies on the way. The two red Warders will follow. Last to arrive will be the two Kings. Here's a pic of the Red Queen. She stands at 86mm. When both sides are complete I will start a thread.
Here's the link to Megrina's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/megrina/
Very nice. I saw that auction.
I was very happy to find it 😊
