Funny I figured it out. It's my mistake. I didn't lift both kings off the board. Now it returns to a specific position in a file. If you mess up (some pieces are on the wrong squares or such) it will create a diagram, set up that position and delete all the moves under Notation bar. To fix this you just have to use the left arrow in the upper left corner to return all the previous moves (or CTRL + Z) and set up a new position that is correct to the one you choose in a file.
DGT Smartboard and ChessBase problem

Great post, LGM23. Thank you very much. It helps me solve the DGT - Chessbase riddle, by lifting both kings off the board, returning to previous point in the game, and only for last thing put the king again .... and so you can navigate in any game ... I use to analize with Aquarium... from chessok ... where the position is regognizable automatically ...

Is it usefull to have a DGT board LGM23? I am thinking of buying one but I don't know if this is something that you are going to use a lot. I thought that maybe you can use it for endgame studies and for long games over the internet. Because of all the cheating going on I only play bullet games so I don't know if I will play the longer games. Maybe someone has the answer to this problem.

The best aspect of a DGT E-Board is IMHO its ability to record OTB games especially blitz games. If you have a friend or club where you play casual games then it's really great. The other benefits of a DGT E-Board like online play are very useful but can be had with other devices for cheaper. This is even within DGTs own lineup like the Pegasus and Centaur not to mention other competitors that offer play vs engines and online play.

I have just bought a DGT e-board (bluetooth version) with classic extra weighted pieces together with the DGT Pi which I can use as a standalone setup.
For me it was a choice between this setup and the Millenium 55 board with the Element unit (the King and Chess Genius engines).
These are different products but I bought the DGT setup because the Millenium 55 board didn’t feel that high quality for what I thought it was. This is because the board is a bit hollow because of the space they had to make as a result of the build in LED’s and the DGT board feels more solid for me. Of course this doesn’t mean that the Millenium 55 board is a bad product (which is not the case) but it is just a personal preference. My advice is to look at the products and compare them in store before you buy. In these days of internet selling this is a bit hard but I was glad I had the opportunity to compare the products in a store.
I recently bought a DGT Smartboard. It works great for playing on chess.com. Now I want to analyse and make moves on the empty ChessBase board. The problem occurs when I try to return to some previous position in a file. DGT Smartboard deletes all the moves when for example returning to the starting position. The only solution is to return the moves in a good order which is of course, very hard to do.
If a certain position exists in the file, why am I not able just to set it up on DGT board without it deleting all the variations etc. in a file and continue my moves normally? Is there any options in a DGT RabbitPlugin to fix this? I ask here because it's easier than contacting DGT support and people that use the board have much more experience...
