Yes several parts do unscrew - some I think are threaded but tight.

"Anglo-Chinese ivory chess set, based on Staunton design... Captions are provided by our contributors."

The contributors somehow omitted a "not" or a "pre-".

Yeah good point. But although this style pre-dates Staunton's design, does it mean the set is older than 1849 - or did they continue to make these afterwards?

@Jas-Scotland - can you determine if it's bone or ivory? I know you mentioned the test you did, but some people can tell by looking through a magnifying glass - there's some youtub videos on it, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62PKdovwlNs

I'd guess yours is ivory.

Hello.

I apparently have a valuable chess set (only the pieces, I unfortunately do not have the chess board anymore) and I am looking into selling the pieces at a local auction house in April (Rago Auctions). I was wondering if those here would be able to provide a ballpark value to the chess pieces and/or be interested in possibly purchasing the pieces. ( Is there an option where I can post pictures of the pieces? I was trying to see through this form if I could provide those pictures for evaluation). Thanks!

The pieces are from the set in this article. It's the Medieval Venice Chess Set.

Thank you dylanryan9. I am sending a contact note to them to see if want to see my pictures and get an assessment.

So now, you’re claiming that you’ve purchased from “them” many times. However, recently you claimed the website as your own. You need to stop the charade. Buyer beware.

Hi all,

I'm selling a few pieces from my collection that I rarely use. The collection pieces range from vintage and not-so-easy-to-find items to more common plastic pieces. Shipping is likely more convenient for those in Australia or New Zealand due to costs, but the items are available to buyers worldwide. Feel free to check the pieces out: https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/paar-1030

Cheers!

Hi sorry to bother you all, going through my late husbands possessions I found a set of what I think is resin very erotic chess pieces. I mistakenly listed on eBay and got it taken down and a warning. Does anyone know where I can list this for sale. Many thanks
