How common are loose weights?

Just wondering, is it fairly common for weights to come loose and rattle a bit in chess pieces? Is this generally regarded as a serious fault, or do most people just expect it to happen on occasion and put up with it? I don’t have any specific or immediate reason for asking this, but since I’m still relatively new to the world of serious chess pieces it’s something I’m curious about.

In vintage pieces, extremely common (maybe 50%-75% of the sets that I get that are older than 20 years have at least one piece with a loose weight).  It's easy to take felt off with a razor and re-glue weight and felt with Elmer's glue.  If new pieces arrive that way to me it would be a sign of poor quality control.  I expect a new set to arrive ready to use.
