I saw your games, and you hung your queen on move 4. You obviously have just learned chess. I wouldn't think right away of reaching 2000 by reading books and stuff - instead, at the very very lowest level, I'd just play a lot, and just experience chess as a game more, and get a feel for it. You first goal should be to reach 1000 level.
I'm not telling you to give up, but simply look where you're going - a player who's just learned chess probably doesn't even know whether he/she likes the game that much.
Hi all, I am a beginner in chess. I am unrated. I am targeting a fide rating of 2000 in the next 3-4 years. I read "Bobby Fischer teaches chess" book and am currently reading "Winning chess tactics" book by Seirwan. I found them good and at my level. I am planning to continue reading other "Winning chess" series books. I practice around 30 tactics per day on chess.com and am willing to spend around 2 hours per day on chess. I am also joining UT Austin Chess Club.
Can you please give me suggestions on how to achieve my target? I understand that there are many techniques to learn in chess, such as openings, tactics, strategies, end game theory, middle game planning etc., In what order should I master them, and what is the best way to master them? How many fide rated tournaments do I need to attend per year to achieve my target?
I heard from many that "to become a good chess player, you ned remember many mates, tactics, and combinations". Is it true? What's the best way to do it?
Is my target aggressive? Do you suggest me to get training from a chess coach, or simply read books and practice on chess.com?
