Kasparov set, origin

Every once in a while someone here will ask about the Kasparov signature set. Here's a link for some info. I have not seen one on eBay for a while. How tall are the Kings?

Just wonder where it was made , and who made it, it is good quality.
From the article I linked to:
"This chess set was influenced and commissioned by World Chess Champion Grandmaster Garry Kasparov, then crafted by the artist Rafael Guigou of Paris."
Although... I'm looking at the Queen and Knights some more, and it appears different than the genuine Kasparov Signature set. Maybe it's because the article photos are of the 95mm size set and your set is the 85mm size. They seem less detailed. Which is to be expected for a smaller size.

One one eBay currently. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Garry-Kasparov-Wood-Chess-Set-Inlaid-Wooden-Board-/203450429426?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
I think the price will go high !

Another similar one for sale. Is this a gem or not ? Box is missing lid. What you guys think this set is ?

The set from 3 weeks ago sold for £61.50. Not cheap enough?
Personally, I'd wait for the 3.75" size.

Finally. This set is featured discussed here in chess.com.
I also own the same Guigou design that szjfm has and the set came in a box. As far as I know, it is a Kasparov-approved licensed design.
if someone wants to sell or know of one thats for sale please email me, Really want a signature set.
thanks

Some years ago I managed to snag a Kasparov set and board. It was the smaller sized one, but with the red and black chessmen and the red-squared board.
I was somewhat disappointed. The Chess Life pictures show brighter red pieces with nice contrast, but the actual "red" pieces are a rather dark burgundy, and can't be readily distinguished from the black side unless the lighting is very good.
I do like the board, which I use with my red and ivory Gallant Knight set.

Hello szjfm From what I can see in your set the queen is a bit different than the one in the Kasparov Signature set. Here in Argentina a Ruibal Brand set was sold, particularly the tournament model, which was advertised with handmade wooden pieces. These sets came in two versions "tournament" without added weight and "super heavy" with counterweights.
I recommend you watch this video where is what I was talking about. https://youtu.be/wQjLAqp_Yn8
PS: I have a similar set that I bought used and I find it very comfortable for slow games. cheers!
Bought late 90's from chess french shop. Any ideas on where it was made and who is the maker ? It is a nice set.
