Knubbel Chess Sets

The LED circles on your Centaur seem too visible to me. Mine aren't so noticeable. I've heard that it depends on the year of manufacture, but I don't know if that's true.

Wow Kram4306! Love your Knubbel set, it's got fab patina, obviously ben played with and handled a lot. I'm really interested in all the knubbel sets posted on here. But I have a confession to make. The knubbel set I started this thread with is no longer in my possession! I made the incomprehensible (now) decision to move the set on in a fit of downsizing which I now massively regret!

Do other collectors have similar experiences? I have limited space in my home and can't display my "collection" so the sets tend to sit in a chest, until I get them out to rotate, either for play in a coffee house I go to or for playing through games and attempting to improve at home. At the coffee house I will only bring certain of the more robust and less rare sets, as the chessmen sometimes get knocked off the table or placed in a puddle.

When I have moved sets on, it's usually on eBay and I've rarely made money, so I'm being much more wary of the occasional "insanity" of spring cleaning the "collection".

Be strong! Resist! RESIST! Resist all urges to downsize your collection unless your wife is seriously threatening to downsize her husband collection! tongue

Not sure if that's funny or tragic Fixbayonets. Guess your justified to find another one now. Might keep you occupied for a while though. They haven't got any less rare. I've mentioned before I do try very hard 'not to buy' Only one purchase for me in last year. That's easier than down sizing. Not sure I could bring myself to say goodbye to my friends.
